Heart Strings quilt

I finished the quilt for my newest pattern.  The pattern is called "Heart Strings" and it is available for sale at the Front Porch Quilt Shoppe in Ozark, AL.  I will probably be adding it as PDF download in my Etsy store soon as well. 

The finished quilt measures 64 inches by 70 inches.  The original here is made in Surrounded by Love fabric, an older line from Moda fabrics.  It is machine pieced and machine quilted.  The name for the quilt itself is "Heartlines" (because I always like to give individual quilts a name that is different from the name of pattern).  Using one of my common naming conventions, it is named after a song by Florence + the Machine.

Turkey Applique

The project that I'm currently working on is a charm quilt with a turkey applique as its focal point.  I got the idea from the Big Charm Star Quilt tutorial over at Missouri Star Quilt Company.  In the tutorial she mentions that it would be great quilt to showcase any large block.  My son suggested that we needed a Thanksgiving quilt, so I thought that a charm quilt with a giant appliqued turkey would be just the thing to do.

I drafted the turkey applique myself, and I think it turned out pretty nice.  The appliqued block will finish 22-1/2 inches.  It is then surrounded by charm squares.  It takes two charm packs.  I'm using Allure by Sanae from Moda.  I thought the colors were nice and fall-like.  Plus some of the fabric made me think of turkey tails.

Cyndi mini all finished

Here is a picture of the miniature version of the Squares for Cyndi quilt all quilted and bound.  I think Melanie did a great job with it.  The quilted circles are such a good contrast to the squares in the pattern, and the red binding really pops.  The little mini quilt is photographed resting on the basket that the patterns are displayed in.
